New Kraft Vending Machine Gives Free Jell-O Treats to Adults But Not to Kids

Intel and Kraft have partnered to launch smart vending machines, called iSample. The machines contain an optical sensor that that can recognize and scan a human face. The software in the machines uses data from the facial scan and computer algorithms to determine the age of the person standing at the machine.

One of the first iSample machines being tested by Kraft offers Temptations Jell-O desert treats. Adults are allowed to have a free treat. However, children are told they cannot have one and to "please step away" from the machine. There are two iSample machines currently in place in the U.S. - in the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago and at the South Street Seaport ferry service in New York. Take a look:
