Scientists Develop Rice That Doesn't Have to Be Cooked
Scientists in India say they have developed a variety of rice that requires no cooking. It just needs to be soaked in water at room temperature for 45 minutes. The rice was developed last September by scientists at the Central Rice Research Institute (CRRI) in Orissa. They were inspired by soft rice, or komal saul, that grows in the Indian state of Assam.
